The best way to determine the dose is to ask your veterinarian. If your cat has rhinotracheitis (herpes), you need to use the dose as indicated on the label: 0.5 mg/kg twice daily for 15 days. However, veterinarians may prescribe different doses or use PI in other diseases, for other indications. Your veterinarian will always remain the best source of information. Dr. Alfred Legendre of the University of Tennessee has a site where he is describing his clinical research with Polyprenyl Immunostimulant http://www.vet.utk.edu/research/fip/fip.php.
